Friday - No School
Dress like a character day is a day part of "Read Across America" week. Students are encouraged but not required to dress like their favorite book character. They should also bring the book with their character or a print a picture of the cover to bring in.
Reading: We finished our text structure unit last week, so we are moving on to poetry this week. As a class, we will be studying all different kind and types of poems. As mentioned when we got back from track out, students will be reciting a memorized poem during a poetry party we will be having on April 18th. The information for this and the memorization will be given out later this week.
Math: We are moving from equivalent fractions to comparing fractions this week. Students will look at two fractions and need to identify which of the two fractions is bigger and which is smaller. This section of fractions is the trick-est that we will tackle. It is important that students practice comparing fractions at home. New resources will be posted later this week.
Writing: We are finishing up our biographies. In the middle of this week, students will start writing their own poetry. Ask them about it :)
Social Studies: This week we are wrapping up our study of Native Americans and the Colonists.
