Friday- Reading Packet (Scholastic Practice Test) Due
Biography home project DUE 3/26.
Remember that report cards are coming up.
Reading: We are still reading biographies in class. There are currently 3 Biographies going on.
1. The biography home project, where they are interviewing and doing a project about someone they know.
2. The Independent Biography Project, where they are reading a book about a famous person (in class) and taking notes.
3. They are reading a biography about one of four people during our guided reading sessions. ( Abraham Lincoln, Jesse Owens, Clara Barton, and Henry Ford)
To connect to the biographies, ask your student about the people who they are reading about in class. If you have time, take them to the library and look for more books on any of the people they are studying.
Math: We are still on fractions. If you are looking for extra practice, please scroll down and use the fraction help pages that I have provided. It is essential that students know how to plot fractions on a number line. Scootpad.com is also a great resource for extra help because it has explanation videos.
Science: Today (Monday) we discussed the differences between physical changes and chemical changes in matter.
A Physical Change is when you change the look or feel of the matter (Ex. cutting paper)
A Chemical Change is changing the matter to a new matter (Ex. Rust)
To help your student, have them demonstrate either physical or chemical changes and have them explain why it is that change.
