Reading: We are finishing up poetry this week and starting out "How to" unit. To help your student better grasp the "how to" format, have them read directions to anything that you are doing or assembling. Ask them why it is important to follow all the directions and steps.
Math: We are continuing time this week. We only have several days to do telling time as well as elapsed time. So it is crucial that we work this week to make sure that the students are doing their homework. A quick way to work on elapsed time, is to ask your student "If it is 1:35pm right now and it will take us 20 minutes to get to our destination, what time will we arrive?" or "What time is it now? What time was it at the the start of this activity? How long did it take you to do this activity?"
Social Studies: We are finishing up our economics unit. Your student should be able to identify the definitions to the following terms: goods, services, wants, needs, scarcity, consumer, producer, supply, demand, and entrepreneur.
